Hello and Happy Halloween!
The current hot topic is what to do about background checks and the Gramm Leach Bliley Act. If your state requires a background check prior to issuing you a commission, is another screening necessary to comply with GLBA? Is a new check necessary every two years? We can’t say, but we’re trying to get several opinions to post next month so you can draw your own conclusion. It looks like other organizations besides NNA are gearing up to offer a background screening service, but apparently you won’t be able to renew your CSA designation without going through NNA’s check. Looks like we’ll be adding a new category to your web page template soon, “Background Screening!” More to follow…
