Become a Notary in Colorado: A Colorado Notary Public is commissioned by the Secretary of State for a 4-year term.

Colorado Requirements:

  • You must be at least 18 years of age.
  • You must be a legal resident of Colorado.
  • You must be able to read and write English.
  • You must not have been convicted of a misdemeanor involving dishonesty, as defined in C.R.S. 12-55-102(1.4), during the last five years.
  • You must not have had a felony conviction in your lifetime.
  • You must not have had a notary commission revoked.
