Become a Notary in Indiana: An Indiana Notary Public is commissioned by the Secretary of State for an 8-year term. Application must be submitted online. An application fee is required.
Indiana Requirements:
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- You must be an Indiana resident.
- You must not have served time in jail of 6 months or more.
- You may not hold certain other types of “lucrative” government positions.
