Hello from West Virginia!

Postby salgal8 on Tue Jan 13, 2009 8:16 pm

Hi, my name is Sally, and I live in Harpers Ferry, WV. I am NNA certified, and also in the new Trusted Enrollment Agent program.
I am excited about this new business, and has anyone heard that because of the new interest rates, that refi's are getting better lately? Also, I spoke to a REAL crabby lady today at 123Notary that practically told me if I didn't join THEM I was going to be a dismal failure---I'm not kidding!! She said that all the forums were full of mean people not wanting to help, that it was the WRONG time to get in the business. Then she said "please hold" and hung up on me.
Is 123Notary REALLY that important to advertise with??
Thanks, and great to meet everyone!
Sal

Hi Sally from WVA

You hang in there and market yourself and talents.

Advice: Read everything that pertains to Notary Public.
Read all message boards from past to present. Read all the
different notary public scenario's that can and will happen. I do everyday
and have learned so so much. I'm just getting started myself here in
Los Angeles. It may be a slow start for us but soon we'll be on our way.

Best of luck to you,

Alway Terri from L.A. CA

Hello Neighbor
I am in Great Cacapon/B. Springs. I am new here also but not new to the signing agent world. I have been doing signings since May 2003. I was living in MD then moved to WV July 2005.

I have never heard of 123Notary. I have gotten all my cold calls from NotaryRotary.com. I paid for the premium at one point but dont think you really need it.

Welcome, Sally. Sorry I missed your post earlier. I have to say if you were talking with Carmen at 123Notary, you must have caught her on a really bad day! Business is down for all the directories so maybe Jeremy is stressing over that and it's rubbed off on her. I've never heard a bad word about her before so it's really unusual that you received that treatment.

In the biz world, 123Notary is considering a competitor of ours so I'd be advised to never say anything nice about them, but I believe notaries need to be in more than one directory to increase the odds of being found. It's that "more needles in the Internet haystack" philosophy. You can read about notary directories here: http://www.GoGetNotary.com/go/notary-directory

Don't forget to market yourself locally, too. Contact title/escrow/mortgage companies and let them know you're available. Make sure you always have a supply of business cards with you; they're marketing tools. You can find tips and samples of biz cards here: http://www.GoGetNotary.com/go/notary-business-cards/
